I began transcribing interviews and steadily increased responsibility as Since My Divorce grew from a blog to a fullscale online divorce coaching program (My Divorce Pal). I was responsible for creating & scheduling social media posts, miscellaneous site maintenance & marketing (WordPress) and recording, editing & publishing coaching videos. Presented with the opportunity to visit Peru the May after my second year of college, I raised funds to sponsor my trip and spent 2 weeks volunteering & traveling in the South American country. I returned the next summer as one of two chaperones for a group of 15 freshmen.

EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK TRANSLATION
2021
A former coworker who now works in HR and Operations at a Boulder-based startup hired me for a freelance translation project. I translated approx. 20 pages (English) to Spanish, giving their many Spanish-speaking employees a handbook outlining company policies. Topics touched on everything from sexual harassment, password management & warehouse safety, to paid leave, retirement benefits & employee referrals.

COMMERCIAL COMPOST IMPLEMENTATION
2016
The City of Boulder passed an ordinance requiring all residential and commercial buildings to sign up for compost service & implement this, among other, zero waste initiatives in 2016. I took responsibility for gathering quotes for compost service, adding receptacles at 20+ buildings, and educating tenants, owners & vendors about the requirements of the new law. I also personally designed & posted signage for public restrooms indicating paper towel waste as compost. This was a rewarding project for me personally and professionally as a supporter of sustainability & green initiatives.

I am credited as a Editor and Graphic Designer on two children's Spanish workbooks produced through Spanish Institute in Boulder. I was responsible for assisting with page layout, image search and editing for grammar, punctuation, etc. You can see a preview on the Spanish Institute online store.

Since my purchase of a Nikon D3100 in 2011, I have dabbled in photography both professionally (as a photographer for the Colorado Daily) and as a hobby. I have photographed weddings & engagements, senior portraits, professional headshots, family holiday photos and more. I am also passionate about nature & landscape photography and can often be found leaning in close to flowers or on rooftops getting great shots of the Flatirons.

As Since My Divorce grew from a blog to a full divorce coaching program (My Divorce Pal), I assisted in shooting, editing & publishing the videos that are an integral part of the online subscription service. It was my first experience using Windows Movie Maker and was a valuable learning experience in the detail and hard work necessary to create a quality video, no matter the length.

This is the title of my independent study in Ethnic Studies, a self-designed course sponsored by a CU-Boulder professor. The course aimed to analyze the existing literature on parental and community involvement in Chicana elementary education and make recommendations for future research.
